An Airbnb and More!
Will you indulge me for a minute and let me toot my own horn? As honored as I am that I’ve been a Superhost for 5 years running, I am even more so that the Decatur Alpaca Cottage is also an Airbnb Plus listing! What is Airbnb Plus you ask? It is an invite-only program that recognizes top hosts and places to stay on Airbnb. Airbnb Plus hosts are expected to maintain Superhost-level standards of hospitality as well as the exceptional host standards as well as an additional set of exceptional host standards by demonstrating that I:
Genuinely care by welcoming guests warmly and delighting them with details that let them know you’ve thought of everything
Provide outstanding service by being the type of host with whom I’d like to stay: kind, responsive, and committed to making things right
The Airbnb Plus program recognizes not only exceptional hospitality, but also well-designed, fully equipped, and spotlessly maintained spaces that meet a high bar for quality and design. In fact, before I was accepted into the program, Airbnb came and conducted an onsite review of the cottage against a 100 point checklist designed to ensure guests an excellent experience! What was particularly rewarding is that I was already doing most of what is required of an Airbnb Plus listing (because I’m ‘extra’ that way!)
I aim for a spirit of gracious hospitality for our guests knowing it will pay off in superior reviews, return guests, and good will all around, not to mention it simply feels good to host well! Our philosophy at the Decatur Alpaca Cottage is to go the extra mile to ensure our guests have not only a pleasant stay, but a stay which they will remember for years to come. I host from a place of generosity, joyfully sweat the small stuff, and find ways to raise the bar a bit higher, and deliver! The effort pays off though and I’m proud to say, we’ve earned 5-star ratings across the board!
